The Isuzu brand continues to offer its own version of the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. Like most pickups, there are plenty of options to choose from in order to create the vehicle best suited to your needs. The i-290 is only available with rear-wheel drive, and as an extended cab. It packs an inline four-cylinder engine under the hood that makes 185 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and puts out 190 lb-ft of torque at only 2,800 rpm. Both a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic transmission are available. Like its big brother, the i-370, the i-290 is rated for a payload of just over 1,500 pounds. Both of the i-Series pickups use a front disc/rear drum brake setup that comes standard with anti-lock brake circuitry. The i-370 has a 3.7L inline five-cylinder engine with a 10.3:1 compression ratio. This helps it to achieve 242 horsepower at 5,600 rpm, and make an identical figure for its torque rating. This model only comes with a four-speed automatic, but there is a choice of body style. The four-door crew cab has a 61.1-inch bed. The extended cab gets a longer, 72.8-inch bed and is only available with two-wheel drive. Both of these body styles are rated to tow 5,000 pounds. Two trims are offered on the i-270, the S and the S with a Preferred Equipment Package. The S has a three-passenger bench seat, while the Preferred Equipment Package gets bucket seats and a floor console. The Preferred Equipment Package also adds a CD/MP3 player, carpeted floor covering, rubberized floor mats, rear jump seats, a storage compartment under the rear seats and deep tinted windows. The i-370 is offered in the LS trim only. The i-370 has intermittent wipers, a bed light, air conditioning, power door locks, power front windows and a locking tailgate.
