Lease Return

As you close in on your lease end date you have several options to consider for your lease end process. One of these options is to return your leased vehicle to Markley Honda of Fort Collins. There are several steps and things to know before returning your leased Honda, like scheduling your vehicle inspection and what to bring to your vehicle return appointment.

Lease End Vehicle Inspection:

Your Free Vehicle Inspection should be schedule with no less than 2 months left on your lease to ensure you have plenty of time to schedule any needed repairs. Your vehicle inspection needs to be arranged through a Honda preferred vendor, and can be scheduled online with SGS. Inspections take about an hour and the inspector will travel to a location convenient to you, like home or work.

Why is an inspection needed?:

The end of lease vehicle inspection provides information on the vehicle that is needed to close your lease account. Any excess use and wear or damage to your Honda vehicle is accessed to make you aware of any additional charges you will be responsible for after your vehicle is returned. Planning your inspection early can provide extra time to schedule repairs for excess wear and/or damages that may have been found during the inspection.

How The Inspections Work:

The inspection is free of charge and takes about an hour to complete. The inspector will also travel to a location that is convenient to you. The inspector will need keys to start the vehicle and check all electrical components, but will not drive your vehicle.

We recommend that you are present during the inspection because you will be provided with a printed report that the inspector will review with you. Shortly after the inspection you will also receive your Preliminary End of Lease Statement outlining the estimated cost of any excess wear and use or damage, excess miles, etc. No charges are added to your account until after the vehicle is returned.

*The Inspector is not privy to Honda Financial Services Excess Wear & Used or Damage Waiver contract terms. Contact a Lease Specialist through the Honda Lease Maturity Center at 1-800-708-6555 regarding next steps or possible actions.

 

Prior to inspection we ask that:

·         Vehicle is as clean as possible inside and out, detail not required

·         All items are removed from vehicle, including child car seats. Inspector will not move or remove any items from the vehicle.

·         Have all keys to vehicle.

·         Have all manuals and service records of vehicle.

·         Have all original vehicle accessories.

·         There is adequate space and light for inspection.

You can schedule your inspection online by visiting SGS or clicking the button below. Make sure you have your HFS (Honda Financial Services) account # and VIN # available.

Making Repairs and Excess Wear Waivers

 

Making Repairs:

If your vehicle requires repairs before your lease return, you can schedule those repairs at our Honda Service Department at 970-226-2213 or through our online service scheduler with Xtime.

 

Benefits of Scheduling Repairs with Us: We are an authorized Honda Service Facility and use Genuine Honda Parts (required by your lease agreement) to repair your Honda. We also keep your repair history on file, which will be required at vehicle return.

 

You may return your vehicle without making repairs and you will receive a bill after your vehicle is returned for the cost of the excess wear and use.

Excess wear and use of Waivers:

 

 Excess wear and use waivers cover a set amount of any excess wear or damage bill that you may receive after returning your vehicle. Not all customers qualify for excess wear waivers, contact a Lease Specialist through the Honda Lease Maturity Center at 1-800-708-6555 for more information on waivers that you may qualify for.

·         Honda Loyalty Waivers - customers who purchase or lease their next Honda vehicle my qualify for a waiver for up to $1,000 in total waived amount1, and may be eligible to get their turn-in fee waived*.

Last Month of Lease

It is now time to schedule an appointment for returning your lease. You can set up your appointment by calling us at 970-226-2213

At Appointment:

Deliver vehicle in clean condition and have the following items with you...

·         All Keys to vehicle.

·         Owners Manuals and service records

·         Vehicle return receipt

·         Vehicle inspection report

·         Receipts for completed repairs

 

After Lease Has Been Returned:

Contact a Customer Service Representative at 1-800-708-6555 to inform HFS that you have returned your vehicle. If all payments have been made, your call will start the completion process for your lease account. If you have any payments remaining on your account, you are still responsible for ensuring they are made on time. If any end-of-term liabilities apply, they will be billed at a later time.
