2016 Civic Receives North American Car of the Year Award

Presented each year at the start of the Detroit Auto Show, the North American Car and Truck of the Year (NACTOY) awards recognize the most outstanding vehicles of the year, based on factors like performance and handling, design, innovation, and value.

This year, we are happy to announce that the all-new 2016 Civic was selected as the winner of the 2016 NACTOY car award. Completely redesigned for 2016, the Civic boasts a new vehicle architecture, two new advanced engine choices, updated interior and exterior styling, and a more spacious cabin. It comes with a suite of available advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies, and it is the first compact car in the world to include both Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

"The all-new Civic was developed and is built in North America, making this 2016 North American Car of the Year win even sweeter," said Jeff Conrad, Honda Division senior vice president and general manager. "Civic is a cornerstone of the Honda lineup, and we're delighted that the automotive press has recognized the new levels of styling, performance, advanced technology, safety and value that characterize the new Civic."

The 2016 NACTOY accolades are different from other awards in that, instead of coming from a single media outlet, they are the presented by a group of 53 independent automotive journalists from the United State and Canada.
